helping expatriates and their families answer the question “How am I doing?”

An Expatriate’s Spouse CSA Story:
Being the wife of a successful, international businessman is not easy. Moving our family half way across the world, although exciting and full of adventure, is not without its challenges. I must say the CSA made all the difference in my adjustment.

Before we went on assignment our company spent thousands of dollars to put us through intercultural training to prepare us for what to expect. They helped us with our housing, finding good schools for our children, visas, taxation issues, and even some basic language training. Unfortunately once we went abroad the children and I began to have some serious adjustment issues – issues that were never covered in our pre-field training like missing family and friends and just the day to day emotions that occur naturally with major transitions. The realization that I was not fully prepared was hard to accept, after all we were the highly successful family ready for any challenges and adventures thrown our way. I began to miss my old life and before I knew it I was letting this get to me.

I knew I needed some help so I began surfing the internet and came across the CSA website. It sounded like a good place to start and it was just what I needed. It validated my feelings, reminded me of my strengths and identified the areas that needed enhancement. I began taking the CSA every few months and found it extremely helpful. When I needed an extra dose of encouragement I would purchase the CSA-Business Feedback Report and have a CSA Coach interpret the results. I found the assessment when combined with coaching to be very powerful. I began to feel empowered and not defeated.

As I look back on those first few years I can honestly say the CSA played a role in keeping me on the field. I really think it is one of the reasons I am still living overseas today!

See how the CSA can help you.
